From wine enthusiast to wine vintner. Our journey began in the early 70’s when we purchased a residential property previously owned by an agricultural enthusiast. The small adjacent lot contained multiple varieties of wine grapes. Lloyd soon had a new-found fascination for grape growing. A larger vineyard was soon planted on family land in Airville, Pennsylvania and Lloyd had a new passion. “There is nothing like walking through a freshly mowed and nicely trimmed vineyard.” Not to be dismissed though, was another passion for the art of winemaking, which Lloyd continued to develop and refine over the next 30 years.
Fast forward to 2005. Lloyd, together with his brother Leroy, and friend Charles decided to turn their wine enthusiasm into a business. The trio decided to locate the actual winery in the small Borough of Seven Valleys for several reasons, most of all for its convenience and accessibility to both Pennsylvania and Maryland traffic. Following the retirement of Leroy and Charles, Lloyd’s wife Barbara joined him, and together they continue to operate the winery.
Not to be forgotten in this journey are a multitude of friends and family. Without them, this passion would have remained a passing thought. Our thanks to all who have made this dream a reality, and thanks to those continuing to support us on a remarkable journey.
